This antique yellow gold ring (580 fineness) is a fascinating piece of jewelry dating from between 1875 and 1900 and bears the Austrian hallmark (valid from 1872 to 1922), confirming its origin and quality. The centerpiece of the ring is a charming faceted oval-cut ruby weighing approximately 0.40 carats, set in a prong setting. The ruby comes from the legendary Mogok region of Burma (Myanmar), known for its high-quality rubies of intense color and brilliance. The design is complemented by twelve rose-cut diamonds weighing a total of approximately 0.15 carats, set in prong and bead settings, giving the ring a delicate sparkle.
